“Now it’s my turn to hand out this award to 10 blog owners I feel are deserving. It was a tough decision but here are the ten I have chosen for this honor. Please visit their blogs and congratulate them on their win… I really wanted to find bloggers who do not have this award, that I could tell, who do an outstanding job with no pretense.”    Julie Arduini, Author Wow! What a delight and honour to be nominated for a blog award. Thanks to all our regular readers here a ... [read more]...

Last night, I spent several hours trying to start the book entitled, “Face to Face with God” by Bill Johnson, for what must have been at least the fourth or fifth time. I picked the book up last Fall, when a gang of us were at a conference where Bill was speaking, and with Eric’s own personal recommendation. I have to admit it really sounded like something I could devour at the time, but no matter how I tried, I just couldn’t seem to absorb the first few chapters of it. I would read it, ... Oversleeping a half an hour, because you blinked and went back to the “land of nod”, can throw the start of your day into a tizzy… or not. At least, if you make up your mind that you are not going to let it, that is. One of the areas the Lord has done a great work in, is in the area of fretting over things like tardiness. Since I hate being late for anything, I tend to arrive far earlier than I need to for the most part. It’s also disrespectful of other peoples’ time, in my ... [read more]...

I can see those little monkeys set apart and huddled in the corner of their cage saying, “hear no evil, speak no evil, and say no evil”; but, how many of us would boldly do the same? Would we dare to be different from all the rest of the ones in the cage of our society? Are we willing to feed ourselves on something different from the rest of them? To reiterate; this is about four men who dared to be different – four men who refused to eat the foods that would cause them to defile thems ... [read more]...

All of the offers of the world, sat before the men who dined at the King’s table. The finest, most tantalizing, highest quality fruits, vegetables, pastries, breads, meats, wines, and cheeses were spread before them in a very specific quantity – all, no doubt, for optimum physical performance and maximum, mental fuel. Yes, indeed, the prolific abundance and resources of the royal kingdom were being invested into the physical bodies of the finest specimens in the kingdom – all handpicked an ... [read more]...

A few years ago we were with friends, armed with the plan all to be huddled around their television set and to be deeply engrossed in a movie. Our gang of kids had a different idea of what a good, entertaining evening would be, and they opted to go upstairs to watch their own choice of flick. Of course, what kid in their right mind would watch the boob-tube without snacks? Popcorn, peanuts, chips, sodas…. anyone? The modern-day version of popping-corn went in and out of the microwave, bag ... [read more]...

With all the new age implications that are now attached to the word “meditation”, it can conjure up stereotypical cartoon-like pictures of swami-clad or shirtless ensembles, with cross-legged lotus positions, and people chanting “olm” over and over. “Meditation” is a devotional exercise of reflection, or contemplation, particularly in regard to spiritual matters. It is something that is done with deliberate intent and a calmness of the heart. Buddhists, and those practicing Hinduism, ... [read more]...
